UK reports record number of daily confirmed coronavirus cases since early February

The United Kingdom recorded its most new coronavirus cases since February 5, the National Health Service said.

The Department of Health and Social Care figures showed that another 18,270 people tested positive for the coronavirus across the UK, the highest daily number since Feb. 5.

Over the past week, nearly 100,000 have tested positive, around a 50 percent increase compared to the week before.

On the other hand, the department announced that all adults in England are now eligible for the COVID19 vaccination.

The United Kingdom has so far reported 4,717,811 confirmed coronavirus cases, with 128,089 deaths and 4,314,125 recoveries. (ILKHA)
