Head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh stressed that the Palestinian resistance secured a strategic victory in the “Sword of Al Quds” battle, which has opened the door for new stages that would witness several achievements and strategies at all levels.

In a speech broadcast on Friday, Haniyeh reiterated that Jerusalem is the core of the Palestinian struggle with the Israeli occupation.

‘Compounded victory’

Haniyeh celebrated the “compounded, strategic” victory scored by the Palestinian resistance in this stage of struggle with the Israeli occupation.

“Gaza stood up to support Jerusalem, defend the holiness of Islam in the al-Aqsa, and take off this sinning hand away from our Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa, the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, and the Bab al-Amoud area,” Haniyeh explained.

This victory, Haniyeh pointed out, was made by the blood of the martyrs who were killed in the massacres committed by the zionist occupation.

Haniyeh saluted the Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip, and its figures, foremost among them Hamas chief in Gaza Yahya al-Sinwar and Hamas Chief of Staff Mohammed Deif.

Resistance to continue

Haniyeh stressed that the Palestinian people would never backtrack on or cease their resistance to the Israeli occupation.

He explained that Gaza has fought back fiercely and stood steadfast in the face of the Israeli occupation for the fourth time.

‘Unforgettable lesson’

Haniyeh noted that the Palestinians in Gaza have taught the zionist occupation a “lesson that it will never forget.”

He confirmed that the Palestinian resistance holds several cards and is committed to a national cause of liberating Palestine and releasing Palestinian detainees from Israeli prisons.

“This battle is a significant turning point that would be considered by all concerned parties, the israeli decision-makers, and the monitors within and outside the region,” Haniyeh continued.

“This victory is compounded at the Palestinian level and the level of the Ummah and the free people of the world, and at the international level.”

Strategic priorities

The Hamas chief called for agreeing on multiple strategic priorities, foremost among them the option of resistance.

The second priority, Haniyeh continued, is to unify the Palestinian people at home and abroad.

“We need an enormous effort to reach a true unity at the level of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), internal Palestinian institutions, and a joint national program,” Haniyeh added, urging for boosting the Palestinian relationship with the Arab and Muslim world.

He also called for cementing the Palestinian relationship with the international community.

Rebuilding Gaza

Haniyeh said that the Hamas leadership, along with the free people of the world, would help reconstruct Gaza and would never abandon its commitments to the families of Palestinian martyrs and wounded and owners of houses destroyed by the Israeli occupation.

The top Hamas official called for the 15-year the zionist regime’s siege imposed on Gaza to be lifted immediately.

Haniyeh hailed Egypt for its historical role and efforts to put an end to the Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people.

He also thanked Qatar for its political and diplomatic efforts in support of the Palestinians, expressing his appreciation to the United Nations, which has coordinated with Egypt and Qatar to broker a ceasefire with the Israeli occupation.

The chief of Hamas Political Bureau thanked Iran for providing financial and military aid to the Palestinian resistance.

Haniyeh, in addition, expressed his appreciation to all Arab and Muslim nations and the free people of the world for their “honorable” stances in support of the Palestinian people. (ILKHA)
