Eyewitnesses said that police forces assaulted and rounded up the young men in Bab Huta area (one of the Aqsa Mosque’s gates).
They added that police forces also closed the Huta Gate ahead of the sunset prayer and the Iftar at the Aqsa Mosque and prevented Muslim worshipers from entering the holy site through the Gate.
Later at night, police forces resumed their provocations in Bab al-Amud Square in the Old City of Jerusalem, where they chased and assaulted many Palestinian young men, and forced them to leave the area.
Local sources said that police officers arrested a teenager identified as Mohamed Abu Rumaila in Bab al-Amud after beating him, adding that they also physically assaulted a young woman in the same area.
Another young man called Mohamed Nassar was also subdued and arrested by police officers in Bab al-Amud. (ILKHA)
