Turkey reports 62,797 new coronavirus cases, 279 deaths

279 more people have died due to coronavirus in the last 24 hours, bringing the country’s death toll from the disease to 34,734, Turkey’s Health Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the number of confirmed cases rose to 4,025,557, after 62,797 more people tested positive for COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.

While at least 3,018 patients are in critical condition, 3,480,146 patients suffering from the disease have so far recovered and been discharged from hospital.

More than 42,509,905 tests for coronavirus have so far been conducted to detect infections in the country. (ILKHA)
