A rise in the general index was realized in CPI (2003=100) on the previous month by 1.08%, on December of the previous year by 3.71%, on the same month of the previous year by 16.19%, and on the twelve months moving averages basis by 13.18% in March 2021, according to the statement.

The lowest annual increase was 2.87% in alcoholic beverages and tobacco

Clothing and footwear with 7.43%, communication with 8.01%, and education with 8.33%, were the other main groups where the lowest annual increases realized. On the other hand, transportation with 24.85%, furnishings and household equipment with 23.64%, and miscellaneous goods and services with 21.49% were the main groups where high annual increases realized.

The lowest monthly increase was 0.04% in alcoholic beverages and tobacco

In March 2021, there was no change in the transportation main group. Furnishing and household equipment with 0.54% and housing with 0.70% were the other groups that indicated a monthly decrease amongst the main groups. On the other hand, health with 3.70%, education with 2.77%, and hotels, cafes, and restaurants with 2.60% were the main groups where high monthly increases realized.

In March 2021, within average prices of 415 items in the index, the average prices of 93 items decreased and the average prices of 35 items remained unchanged while the average prices of 287 items increased.
