“Despite the high interest rate, the expected decline in foreign currency did not occur. The fragility of the economy has increased even more. Because while the dominance of interest and currency lobbies in the economy is increasing day by day, it is seen that the economy management has no power to resist these lobbies,” Sağlam said.

Sağlam underlined that the new economic reform package announced by the government has not been able to produce the desired effects because there is no guarantee that this program will be put into practice.

“Frequent changes in top bureaucratic posts cause instability and insecurity in the market. Success will come if the economy administration, which only speaks but does not take steps to ease the economic hardship, takes the necessary steps bravely and uncompromisingly.”

Sağlam continued: “If the problems of the manufacturer are addressed and the investment is properly supported, the economic targets will be achieved. Especially the public sector should lead this. In a country where the increase in the producer price index (PPI) is around 30%, it is not possible to see employment growth and competitive power in the production sector. Accordingly, there will be serious decreases in exports.”

Calling on the government to focus on the problem of unemployment, Sağlam said: “The unemployment rate has substantial importance in the country’s economy. There has not been any step of the economy administration that can be considered as a reform in this regard. With this understanding, unemployment will continue to be a major problem.”

Sağlam also urged the government to carry out reform as soon as possible in order to create jobs for the unemployed. (ILKHA)
