Iran's death toll from Covid-19 rises by 89

Iran has reported 89 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 59,572 , the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Monday

After 8,263 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,582,275 in the country.

There are at least 3,685 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than, 1,351,390 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.

So far, at least 10,444,695 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.

According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 2,479,248 with 112,024,400 cases and more than 87,390,704 recoveries. (ILKHA)
