Shusha, which was known as the center of the art, literature and culture, was liberated by Azerbaijani Army after 28 years of the occupation of Armenian troops.
Lying in the region of Nagorno-Karabakh, Shusha was occupied by Armenian forces in 1992 during the Nagorno-Karabakh War.
Situated at an altitude of 1,400–1,800 meters (4,600–5,900 ft) in the Karabakh mountains, Shusha was a mountain recreation resort in the Soviet era. (ILKHA)
