After the meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the DEVA Party, Sağlam and Babacan held a joint press conference.
In his speech, Sağlam stated that he had visited Ali Babacan to congratulate him for his new party, the DEVA Party.
“The political parties must unify with one another at the service of people”
Explaining that the purpose of his visit was to convey best wishes for the inauguration of the DEVA Party, Sağlam said: ”That was our first visit. As two parties that want to serve our country and seek solutions to the problems of the country, I hope that our relations will continue to act together and seek solutions. As Huda PAR, we believe that political parties are not rivals of each other, they should be institutions that should help each other in solving the problems of the country. As a party, we have been working for 8 years and we have been fighting on this issue since day one. Because in Turkey, unfortunately, the understanding of opposition, the way political parties perceive it, is not in a way that we can accept. All political parties are legal entities that were founded to serve the country, to relieve the country's troubles, and to govern the country. In this sense, all political parties must meet in a common place in order to serve the people.”
For his part, Ali Babacan, who thanked HÜDA PAR Chairman İshak Sağlam for his visit, noted that they have discussed the country’s troubles, especially economic ones.
Babacan also said that they, as the DEVA Party, wanted to learn the experiences of HÜDA PAR regarding the formation of the organizational process of the party. (ILKHA)
