The number of deaths from coronavirus in Iraq rises to 5,017, Health Ministry says

Iraq has reported 83 new deaths from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, bringing the country’s death toll from the virus to 5,017.

So far, 134,722 cases were confirmed with coronavirus in the country, an increase of 2,836 cases in the last 24 hours.

96,103 patients suffering from the pandemic have recovered and been discharged from hospital.

Iraq is considered especially vulnerable to the epidemic due to being ravaged by war and U.N. sanctions. (ILKHA)
