Brazil: The number of coronavirus cases reaches 2,048,697

The number of confirmed cases has reached 2,048,697 in Brazil, an increase of 33,959 cases in the last 24 hours.

While at least 8,318 patients are being treated in intensive care units, more than 1,366,775 patients suffering from coronavirus have fully recovered and been discharged from hospital.

Sao Paulo, the country’s most-populated state, continues to be the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic in Brazil. The state has so far reported more than 407,000 confirmed coronavirus cases, with at least 19,377 deaths.

Government of Brazil has so far delivered more than 7,900 pulmonary ventilators to the states to help them in their fight against coronavirus pandemic. (ILKHA)
