US: The number of deaths from coronavirus reaches 128,152

512 people have died from coronavirus in the past 24 hours in the United States, rising the country’s death toll from the virus to 128,152, according to Johns Hopkins University.

The U.S. has the highest death toll from coronavirus in the world, followed by Brazil with 57,103 deaths, the United Kingdom with 43,514 deaths and Italy with 34,716 deaths.

2,596,537 people have until now tested positive for coronavirus in the United States. Of those, 15,816 patients are in critical condition.

Until now, at least 1,081,437 patients suffering from the pandemic have recovered and been discharged from hospital in the country.

At least 31,998,024 tests have been carried out to detect coronavirus infections in the country.

New York, which is being hit the hardest by the novel coronavirus in the U.S, has so far reported more than 416,018 confirmed cases, with at least 31,452 deaths.

According to Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, coronavirus pandemic has so far claimed the lives of at least 501,878 people across the world. (ILKHA)
