Death toll from the vires has risen to 50,659, an increase of 601 deaths in the last 24 hours.

While at least 8,318 patients are being treated in intensive care units, more than 579,226 patients suffering from coronavirus have been discharged from hospital after being cured.

Sao Paulo, the country’s most-populated state, continues to be the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic in Brazil. The state has so far reported more than 219,185 confirmed coronavirus cases, with at least 12,588 deaths.

“Actions and investments of the Federal Government have already saved more than 549,000 lives. Another 485,000 are in treatment. In the fight against coronavirus, the order is not to leave anyone behind,“ the health ministry tweeted. (ILKHA)
