According to local reports, there were about 140 people in the hospital when the gunmen launched the attack.
The hospital is run by the international medical charity, Medicins Sans Frontieres (MSF), sometimes rendered in English as Doctors Without Borders.
On the other hand, 24 people have been killed and dozens injured in a suicide attack at a funeral ceremony in the Kuz Kunar district of eastern Afghanistan on Tuesday.
People had attended the funeral ceremony of the commander of the district's police force, Shaykh Akram, when a suicide bomber detonated himself, the local official said.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attacks. (ILKHA)
