Russia reports more than 10,000 new coronavirus cases for sixth day in a row

Russia has reported 10,699 new confirmed coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the number of confirmed cases to 187,859 in the country.

1,723 people have until now died from coronavirus in the country, an increase of 98 deaths in the past 24 hours.

As 2,300 patients are being treated in intensive unit cares, 26,608 patients suffering from coronavirus have fully recovered and been discharged from hospital in the country.

Russia is now the fifth most-affected country in terms of infections, having surpassed Germany and France on Thursday.
