123 people have died from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the country’s death toll to 7398.
More than 141,700 patients suffering from coronavirus have fully recovered and been discharged from hospital.
The low preliminary fatality rate was seen in Germany, compared to Italy and Spain, resulting in a discussion and explanations that cite the country's higher number of tests performed, higher number of available intensive care beds with respiratory support, absence of COVID-19 analyses in autopsies performed and higher proportion of positive cases among younger people. However, the head of the Robert Koch Institute warned that the German death rate would increase over time.
Globally, at least 3,918,678 people have so far tested positive for coronavirus. Of those, more than 270,765 people have lost their lives until now. (ILKHA)
