Tokyo is the most affected Prefecture by coronavirus with 4751 cases and 155 deaths, followed by Osaka Prefecture with 1,698 cases and 53 deaths.

Out of 47 prefectures in the country, cases with the virus were reported in 46 prefectures.

The health ministry announced that the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the country amounted to 16,189 and the clusters of infected patients reached 26.

On 4 May, the Japanese government has decided to extend the nationwide state of emergency established in April until the end of May. (ILKHA)
