Trump stated that Iran had been hit very hard by coronavirus pandemic, claiming that obviously their numbers weren’t correct numbers, that they reported.
“I would be willing to do something, if they want it, if they ask for it…if they needed aid or ventilators, we have thousands of ventilators currently on hand, and ventilators under construction, that are under construction,” Trump said.
“Iranian people do not need any assistance from the United States amid coronavirus pandemic,” said Seyed Abbas Mousavi, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman at a press conference on April, 2020.
“The Trump administration’s broad sanctions on Iran have drastically constrained the ability of the country to finance humanitarian imports, including medicines, causing serious hardships for ordinary Iranians and threatening their right to health,” Human Rights Watch said in a report. (ILKHA)
