In a statement released on the occasion of the Palestinian Prisoner’s Day, Islamic Jihad underlined that the resistance is committed to liberating the prisoners.

The Movement warned “the criminal occupation” of any intent to harm the Palestinian prisoners in its jails and held it responsible for any danger threatening their lives, especially in light of the coronavirus spread.

It also stressed the need to protect the prisoners’ families and reject any harm being inflicted upon them and any infringement upon their rights, calling for paying the prisoners’ families their monthly stipends, which were unjustly cut off several months.

Islamic Jihad also called on the Palestinian Authority to stop persecuting the ex-detainees after their release from Israeli jails regardless of their political affiliations. (ILKHA)
