The country’s death toll has risen to 2,945, an increase of 122 in the past 24 hours.

“Since not all COVID-19 patients are tested, the actual numbers in the Netherlands are higher than the numbers stated in the report,” the statement said.

Underlining that 28% of the confirmed COVID-19 patients reported to RIVM (National Institute for Public Health and the Environment) are known to be healthcare workers, the statement said: “The relatively high percentage of healthcare workers among patients with COVID-19 is explained by the fact that the testing policy is partly focused on this professional group.” (ILKHA)
