The country has so far reported 71,686 confirmed coronavirus cases, an increase of 1,675 cases in the last 24 hours.
“43,894 patients suffering from the novel coronavirus have recovered and been discharged from hospitals so far,” Jahanpour said.
“Some 3,930 patients are in critical condition,” he noted.
63,388 tests have been taken in 95 laboratories across the country to detect infected cases.

As of 8 April 2020, Iran has the fifth-highest number of COVID-19 deaths after Italy, Spain, the United States and the United Kingdom, and the seventh-highest number of COVID-19 cases in the world.
