The United States recorded 1339 COVID-19 fatalities in a single day, bringing the country’s death toll from the virus to 10,993.

There have so far been 368,449 confirmed cases in the country, including 30,478 new cases confirmed in the last 24 hours.

The U.S. is entering one of the most critical weeks in the fight against Coronavirus. New York, Michigan and Louisiana cities witnessed an increase in the number of confirmed cases.

Some states such as Pennsylvania, Colorado and Washington DC also have seen an increase in death toll.

The White House coronavirus task force warned this is not the time to go to the grocery store or other public places.

White House officials are predicting between 100,000 and 240,000 deaths in the U.S. with coronavirus fatalities peaking over the next two weeks.

“There will be 'a lot of death' in coming weeks,” said Trump in daily press conference in the White House on April 4. (ILKHA)
