Syrian President al-Assad expresses satisfaction over Idlib ceasefire

Bashar al-Assad has expressed satisfaction over Idlib ceasefire during a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday, the presidency sources reported.

Putin also briefed al-Assad on the results of the meetings he held along with Russian officials with Turkish officials on Thursday.

On 5 March 2020, a top level meeting took place between Turkish President Erdogan and the Russian President Putin, a ceasefire was agreed to start 6 March and a 6 km safe zone to be established along the M4 Highway. (ILKHA)
