The coronavirus will temporarily be named by NHC as the Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia, or NCP.
It has been known by the name of Wuhan where it originated, something which locals in the city have considered frustrating and insulting. (ILKHA)
Coronavirus gets a new official name
Chinese National Health Commission gave the Wuhan coronavirus, which has so far killed at least 800 people and infected more than 37,000, of which 6,196 in severe condition, a temporary name at a news conference on Saturday.
