A Russian military delegation and Turkish officials have been holding talks on joint plans in Syria under agreements reached during earlier talks between the leaders of the two states, the Turkish defense ministry said in a statement.

"The first day of the discussions was completed with the Russian military delegation, which came to Ankara to plan the activities to be carried out within the framework of the agreement reached with Russia on Oct. 22, 2019 in Sochi. The talks will continue tomorrow," the defense ministry said.

Turkey launched "Operation Peace Spring" on Oct. 9 to remove YPG/ PKK members from northern Syria in order to secure Turkey’s borders, help the return of Syrian refugees. (ILKHA)
