"We commend efforts by Turkey and Russia working together to restore the cease-fire they agreed in Sochi in September 2018," US State Department spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus said in a written statement about the ceasefire provided in Idlib.
The statement read that the United States welcomes the news that a ceasefire has been declared in Northwest Syria, but what is truly important is that attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure must stop.
"We will appreciate any efforts undertaken towards this important goal," said Morgan Ortagus.
Turkey, Russia, and Iran agreed at the 13th guarantors meeting in Kazakhstan's capital Nur Sultan to take concrete measures to prevent civilian casualties in Idlib de-escalation region and to ensure the security of the guarantors' military personnel. (ILKHA)
