The occupying zionists had demolished 16 Palestinians buildings in the previous day in the Valley Al-Hims area of the Sur Bahir resort south of Jerusalem.

DiCarlo said the destruction of the occupation regime had led to the relocation of 90 Palestinians, 58 of them children; the number of homes destroyed had reached 66, while homeowners had their homes demolished even though they had received building permits.

"Demolitions and seizures of Palestinian-owned structures by Israeli authorities also continued. 66 structures were demolished or seized, mostly on the grounds of lack of Israeli-issued building permits, which are nearly impossible for Palestinians to obtain. This practice must stop."

On 11 June, the so-called zionists' high court dismissed a petition by the Palestinian residents of the Wadi Hummus/Sur Bahir neighborhood of East Jerusalem, giving them until 18 July 2019 to demolish nine buildings due to their proximity to the separation barrier. The structures were demolished by zionists authorities on 22 July, resulting in the displacement of 24 Palestinians, including 14 children.

As Deputy Special Coordinator McGoldrick stated yesterday, zionists' policy of destroying Palestinian property is not compatible with its obligations under international humanitarian law and contributes to the risk of forcible transfer facing many Palestinians in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in the Palestinian territories said more than 300 people had been affected by the demolitions, according to initial determinations.

The occupation regime demolishes the buildings on the grounds that they are close to a wall of racial segregation, although the buildings destroyed by the occupation gangs are located in the Palestinian Authority-controlled area.

While the destruction carried out by the occupying terrorists in the Valley Al-Hims neighborhood of Sur Bahir resort was condemned by many countries around the world, the expectation is that the occupying terrorists will continue destruction in Sur Bahir resort in the coming days.

The US reportedly has blocked any attempt to condemn the demolitions at the UN Security Council. (ILKHA)
