Turkish cargo ship PASKOY 1 was attacked and boarded by pirates on Jul 13 in the Gulf of Guinea in the vicinity of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. 

The ship was en route from Douala Cameroon to Abidjan Ivory Coast.

10 crew were taken hostages, and understood, pirates fled with them.

No information has yet been shared about the identities of the sailors from Turkey, while no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.

The remaining crew, according to Turkish sources citing ship owner statement, took the ship to Tema Anchorage Ghana, the ship reached anchorage and anchored in the afternoon Jul 15. (ILKHA)
