During a special session of the UN Security Council, an agreement to condemn the attack on a refugee camp near Libya's capital, Tripoli, could not be reached.

The statement prepared by Britain and condemning the attack on the refugee camp was stumbled by the United States. US diplomats did not approve the declaration.

In the declaration text prepared by Britain, the parties in Libya called for an end to the conflicts and a new political dialogue process. The text condemning the attack on the refugee camp did not contain any statement as to who was responsible for the attack.

At least 53 people were killed and more than 130 were injured in an airstrike on Wednesday night at the refugee camp in Tajoura near Tripoli. (ILKHA)
