A bomb blast killed eight people at a mosque in eastern Baghdad on Friday and wounded 30, police sources said.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, a security source told the local press that a bomber detonated his explosive belt among a group of worshippers attending the weekly Friday prayers at al-Muntadar Mosque in al-Baladiyat neighborhood.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet
A source said the death toll was expected to rise with many of those wounded in serious condition.
Many health and safety teams were dispatched to the scene after the attack.
While the wounded were rushed to hospitals, security forces took control of the region. (ILKHA)
