The Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar, who went to Gebele city of Azerbaijan to attend the 7th Azerbaijani-Georgian-Turkish defense trilateral meeting, spoke to the journalists about the letter sent by US Deputy Secretary of Defense Patrick M. Shanahan on the arrival at the Heydar Aliyev Congress Center.

According to the report in the website of the Ministry of National Defense, Akar recalled the letter sent from the U.S. Deputy Minister of Defense, said: "We also stand with precision as the public opinion about the style of the letter."

"The letter expressed the expectation of finding a solution to the existing problems within the framework of the strategic partnership and maintaining comprehensive security cooperation and stated the importance of continuing negotiations, but from the very first moment we saw that the style was not in line with the allied spirit," Akar said.

"Accordingly, we do the necessary work, prepare the necessary answer. We will give this answer to them in the coming days. We continue to coordinate with relevant institutions and organizations in this regard."

Reminding that there is a NATO defense ministers meeting in Brussels at the end of this month, Akar noted that they will have a meeting with the deputy U.S. Secretary of Defense. (ILKHA)
