In Venezuela, which has the biggest military and political crisis in its history, it was announced that a group of soldiers linked to the opposition attempted a coup.
Opposition leader Juan Guaido, who posted on his Twitter account, announced that Nicolas Maduro has taken action to put an end to the extortion. Guaido also called on the Venezuelan army to support him.
Guaido, who spoke at the military base in La Carlota in Caracas, gave his speech in support of some members of the army.
Military vehicles have seen in the capital Caracas while some military units have cut off roads.
A statement from the Venezuelan Defense Ministry said the military was ready and determined to protect the country's interests and constitution. The statement also included that there is no unusual activity in the army units. (ILKHA)
