Announcing by Diyarbakır Governorate, police has reached the information that three suspects, who reside in Bismil and Ergani districts of Diyarbakır, were trying to sell a historical book. After conducting an investigation, police has seized a 1300-years-old gold and silver writing historical book.

"As a result of the intelligence studies carried out by Diyarbakır Provincial Gendarmerie Command, Smuggling, and Organized Crime Departments, three suspects residing in Bismil and Ergani districts determined that they are looking for buyers to sell a religious-motive book with gold and silver writing on 1300-year-old papyrus paper," the governorate said in a statement.

The suspects in question trying to sell the book with the gold and silver typed including religious motifs caught in an operation the statement read.

The governorate stated that a book with 51 sheets and 102 pages written in the Arabic alphabet with gold and silver on papyrus papers was seized after the judicial search on persons and places where they live.

According to the instructions received by the Chief Public Prosecutor, the seized historical book was taken to a safe place while the investigation proceedings against 7 suspects are underway. (ILKHA)
