HUDA PAR President Ishak Sağlam published a message on the results of the local elections held on Sunday, March 31 in Turkiye.

Stating that citizens have chosen local managers for the next 5 years with a high participation rate, Sağlam wished that the results of the elections be beneficial to the nation, to the country and to the Muslim Ummah.

Sağlam said the goal of the elections is the manifestation of the free will of the people. "This will result in the renewal or replacement of trust of existing governments in accordance with the needs of the society."

"For this reason, all parties have to read the results of the elections correctly and understand the message given by the public clearly."

"This process should be carried out in a fair and transparent manner"

Stating that people have made their choice and duty, HUDA PAR president underlined that it is the responsibility of all relevant institutions and individuals to make the choice of the nation as it is supposed to be, not to make any changes.

Sağlam noted that the rules of how to make and conclude objections regarding the results are clear. "This process should be carried out in a fair and transparent manner. Everyone, especially the competition candidates and their parties, must accept the results and respect the will of the people."

"Our nation has been more mature than the ones who are running for representation"

Emphasizing the fact that there are discussions, separations, differences, coexistence, and alliances before each election, is a natural situation, HUDA PAR President noted as unacceptable to provoke people against each other and raise tensions to get an extra few votes or seats.

"Unfortunately, these tensions have caused bloodshed in a few places, resulting in death. In spite of some politicians and some candidates' attitudes, the fact that these events were not very widespread, and that the elections have been relatively quiet except for a few exceptional events, has shown that our nation has been more mature than the ones who are running [candidates] for representation," said Sağlam.

"Political parties and their representatives should focus on the real problems of the nation with a new language and rhetoric".

"The elections have been completed, a new period and the process has begun," Sağlam said.

Calling on political parties and their representatives, Sağlam underscored that they need to focus on the real problems of the nation with a new language and rhetoric. "The most important responsibilities of the political parties against the society are to be part of the solution to the social problems, to open the bottlenecks and to produce policies in accordance with the general consensus."

"What the government has to do is to deal with the mass problems that are waiting for a solution. The opposition should share their solutions with the public and direct the government when the government is doing wrong," he said.

Saying that local authorities should focus on the most accurate management of villages, towns, and cities, Sağlam added, "We call upon all political parties and elected persons to act with the awareness of this sensitivity and responsibility." (ILKHA)
