Union of Scholars and Madrasas [ITTIHAD AL-ULEMA] shared with the public the educational and scientific meetings held in 2018, and the events and visits to which they participated mainly in Turkiye.

Scholars Meeting

The "3rd Scholars Meeting" placed at the top of the statement issued by the ITTIHAD AL-ULEMA regarding the activities carried out in 2018.

The statement read that one of the aims of the foundation of the union is to bring together Islamic scholars in various ways and to enable them to talk about the issues of science and the problems of the Ummah.

"In this context, scholars and academics from various countries, especially from four parts of Kurdistan, attended our 'scholars meeting', which we organized the 3rd in Diyarbakır [southeastern province of Turkiye] this year," the statement read.

This year's meeting, which held in October, focused mainly on issues related to the education problem in the madrasas and their solutions.

Panel and meetings

The statement reminded that another activity organized was the "Jerusalem and Our Responsibility" panel.

"We also demonstrated a response by bringing together the Islamic scholars in February as the Union of Scholars and Madrasa to be a part of the global Jerusalem Intifada that began after the imperialist United States described Jerusalem as the so-called "capital" of invaders," the statement read.

The statement continued that the responsibility of scholars was discussed in the wide-ranging 'Jerusalem and Our Responsibility,' Panel attended by many scholars from abroad and domestic in order to signify the importance of Jerusalem in the Islamic world.

In the activity bulletin that included international meetings, the following was read:

"As Union of Scholars and Madrasa, we are taking part in international meetings organized by scientific institutions and Islamic movements, exchanging views with Islamic scholars."

"In this context, our Chairman, Mullah Enver Kılıçarslan and our Board Member, Mullah Abdurrahman Özekinci, as well as a team of our members attended the General Assembly meeting held in Istanbul by the World Scholars Union."

The statement read that as the result of the meeting, they congratulated Sheikh Ahmed EL-Reysuni, the new head of the Union, and met with Islamic scholars from all over the world.

The statement informed that Mullah Enver Kılıçslan attended the meeting "Jerusalem is the identity of the Ummah" held in Kuala Lumpur, capital of Malaysia in January 2018.

The statement added that board members of the Union have attended the Islamic Jihad Movement and Hamas meeting held in Istanbul with the participation of scholars from many countries on "The latest situation in the Palestinian resistance and the responsibility of Scholars against Jerusalem."

Including internal periodical meetings in the activity bulletin, the statement read that members and teachers of the union come together during the year and organize annual evaluation meetings, mainly on education.

"In addition to this, the scholars from abroad, who were experts in their own field, gave expedited scientific seminars to our male and female students. In the same way, our madrasahs for girls in all provinces come together under the supervision of a teacher every month and they analyze a book by making evaluations on scientific issues."
