While the cotton harvest continues in Hilvan, district of Turkiye's Şanlıurfa, the manufacturer are happy due to the good harvest but unhappy with the low price of cotton.

Indicating that he has been dealing with agriculture since childhood, Sinan Gül said that cotton producers have suffered a great loss compared to last year.

Gül, who drew attention to the increase in the dollar against Turkish Lira, said: "Last year, the bottle of the agricultural pesticides was 15 TL, because of the dollar; it was 115 TL this year. The price of manure was 1,20 TL last year and raised to 3 TL this year. We were selling cotton for 2,65 TL last year and this year the price is about 2,75. We are complaining about the prices."

"When we make an account, even if I sell my tractor and my house, I still can't afford it. The yield is good but the price is not," he added. (ILKHA)
