The International Help Organization Pro-Orphans, which continued its aid activities in Turkiye and in different countries of the world, performed cataract surgery in Somalia, an African country and eliminated patients' vision defects.

Cataract operations performed by Pro-Orphan Association with the contributions of philanthropists were made to patients living in camps near the capital Mogadishu. All of the cataract surgeries performed at the hospital with the best ophthalmologists of Somalia.

The European Pro-Orphan Association Vice President, Hüseyin Ateş said that thousands of African people with visual impairments were waiting for cataract surgery, and that cataract surgeries will continue as a result of applications and donations to be made to them.

Saying that tens of thousands of orphans and needy people in countries such as Africa, Balkan countries, Palestine, Arakan, and Turkiye have provided various assistance, Ateş added that their help will continue within the framework of their opportunities.

The majority of the people in need living in Somalia suffer from cataract due to malnutrition and climate conditions. (Hamza Korkut - ILKHA)
