Speaking about the decision taken by the State Council 8th Chamber on the nationalist "Student Oath" to be read again in primary schools, Sağlam emphasized a new system that will not impose ideology.
Turkish Education Association filed a lawsuit in the Council of State for the re-entry of student oath into the force, which was abolished on October 8, 2013. State Council 8th Department discussed the case of the Turkish Education Association concerning "student oath" and found it illegal to remove.
"The decision of the Council of State cannot be an excuse to return to this racist practice."
Stating that the council of state had put itself in the place of "executive organ" by this decision and imposed a racist discourse on the citizens, Sağlam stated that AK Party should put the lifted "student oath" decision under constitutional guarantee by taking into consideration the reason of the Council of State as soon as possible.
"The solution is to make a completely new and indigenous Constitution in accordance with our faith, culture, and customs, and to bring a system that will not impose the ideology on the people despite the public. The decision of the Council of state cannot be an excuse to return to this racist practice," he said. (ILKHA)
