Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has stated the presence of DAESH members increased in Syria in regions controlled by the United States and its allies, said that the DAESH seized at least 700 hostages, including the US and Europeans.

Speaking at the Valdai Discussion Forum, Putin said: "We see what is happening right now on the left bank of the Euphrates."

"This region is under the control of our US partners, and they rely on Kurdish groups, but it is clear that what is needed here is not done exactly," he added.

Putin warned that militants took 130 families hostage, which consist of at least 700 people hostage.
