President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will make a state visit to Germany on 27-29 September 2018.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, following his visit to the U.S., will pay a state visit to Germany on Sept. 27-29, 2018, at the invitation of President Frank-Walter Steinmeier of Germany.
President Erdoğan, in addition to a meeting with President Steinmeier, will also come together with Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Turkiye-Germany cooperation in political, economic, security, defense, cultural and social areas as well as the issues related to the Turkish community in Germany will be addressed during the talks.
Regional and global developments, particularly those concerning Syria, cooperation in the fight against terrorism and irregular migration, Turkiye-EU relations and other issues that are of concern to both countries will also be on the agenda.
President Erdoğan is also expected to address representatives of NGOs and executives of leading German companies at the Turkiye-Germany Business Council.
President Erdoğan will also inaugurate the DITIB Central Mosque in Cologne and come together with the Turkish community in Germany.
President Erdoğan's visit will be the first state visit from Turkiye to Germany after a 7-year hiatus. Germany is a NATO ally and a leading economic partner of Turkiye. The Turkish community of 3.5 million living in Germany acts as a bridge of friendship between the two countries. (ILKHA)
