Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım, in response to a question asked by reporters in Ankara, stated that Turkiye has lifted the flight ban on Iraqi Kurdistan and announced the airspace opened for flights.

"After the Northern Iraq referendum, which we did not approve, the airspace was closed. The Iraqi central government opened the airspace, and we are opening the airspace today," Prime Minister Yıldırım said.

The removal of the flight ban is valid for Erbil, Prime Minister Yıldırım said Sulaimani is excluded from this practice. "Because of the activities of the terrorist organization continue intensively on our country in Sulaimani," Yıldırım Added.

"The airspace will be opened towards the airport and the flight planning of THY and other airlines," Yıldırım said. (ILKHA)
