Syrian Special Envoy Staffan de Mistura, who held a press conference on the last day of Geneva 8 negotiations on Syria, said that since November 28, they have held 11 meetings with opposition and 7 meetings with the regime.

Mistura stressed that the opponents put all four basic chapters of the negotiations that constitute the content of the dialogue, the constitution, the elections and the struggle with terrorism on the table, and noted that the regime focused only on the title of "terrorism".

Reacting to the regime's delegation demanded the withdrawal of the Riyadh 2 meeting declaration that was the removal of Assad was asked. Mistura stated that the regime's claim is not a "logical" and "acceptable".

Mistura noted that the Geneva 8 negotiations failed and said, "We did not succeed, a golden opportunity was missed".
