The European Court of Human Rights [ECHR] has confirmed that Belgium has banned the wearing of clothes such as veil and burka in the public.

In Belgium, in 2011, the law banned the wearing of veils covering the face or part of the face in the public arena. The two Muslim women who lived there had applied to the ECHR on the grounds that the decision was contrary to the fundamental rights and was exclusive.

Having evaluated the application, the ECHR ruled that it was necessary to apply this ban. (ILKHA)
