Sertip Polat was executed last year when he requested to leave the PKK after the violent clashes in Silvan. Polat was buried in Lice by the PKK members but his family found his grave empty when they wanted to take his corpse from Lice.

According to the information acquired, Sertip Polat’s family had claimed that their son was executed by the PKK and they requested an autopsy done by the prosecution. Yesterday at around 16:00 o’clock the Sise village gendarme near Lice opened the grave in question with the participation of Polat’s family.

Once the grave was opened they noticed that the body was missing from the grave. The PKK had stolen Sertip’s body a while ago once they found out that the grave will be opened so it is not determined who shot Sertip Polat. The gendarme removed the cotton and bandages from the grave which they believed were wrapped on Sertip’s wounds.

Sertip Polat’s family returned to Silvan with the sadness of not being able get their child’s corpse. (ILKHA)
