The attack occurred in the Beit Lahia Project area, as confirmed by Hussam Abu Safia, the hospital's director.

"The building, which was bombed by Israeli warplanes, housed nearly 50 martyrs, including three of our medical staff," Abu Safia stated. The victims included pediatrician Ahmed Samour, laboratory technician Israa, and maintenance technician Fares, who were residing in the building with their families.

This incident comes amid Israel's large-scale ground offensive in northern Gaza, initiated on October 5, 2023, to allegedly prevent Hamas from regrouping. However, Palestinian residents and officials claim the operation is aimed at occupying the territory and forcibly displacing its inhabitants.

Since the onset of the offensive, the area has been cut off from sufficient humanitarian aid, leading to dire conditions where the population faces imminent famine due to shortages of food, medicine, and fuel.

The Israeli genocidal aggression has been devastating, with over 45,000 reported deaths in Gaza following an attack by Hamas on October 7, 2023. The destruction has left the enclave in ruins, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.

Internationally, the situation has drawn significant scrutiny. Last month, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity related to the Gaza conflict. Additionally, Israel is currently facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice. (ILKHA)
