Demir shared his party's proposals on drug use and the weakening of the family institution and called on the public and the Presidency of the Parliament to address the law proposal regarding dual citizen Zionists who committed massacres in Palestine.
Demir highlighted the alarming increase in drug use, particularly in southern provinces, following the start of the civil war in Syria. He noted that drug use has become prevalent even among primary school children and that drugs can be found around schools. While acknowledging the efforts of the security bureaucracy in combating drugs, Demir emphasized that more radical policies and legislative changes are needed to effectively address the issue.
Demir pointed out the serious problems in the treatment of drug addicts due to current legislation. He called for more radical regulations to expedite the treatment process and save addicted individuals from addiction. Demir also stressed the importance of targeting drug barons in addition to small-scale dealers to eradicate the root cause of the problem.
Addressing the ongoing attacks and massacres by Israeli occupation forces, Demir condemned the increasing violence and genocide in Gaza. He criticized the international community, including Muslim countries, for their lack of serious action to stop Israel's aggression. Demir called for more effective measures to prevent further atrocities.
Demir highlighted HÜDA PAR’s proposed bill targeting dual-citizen Zionists living in Türkiye who allegedly participate in acts of genocide in Palestine. The bill, which has been pending in Parliament for over a year, proposes measures such as prosecution, citizenship revocation, asset confiscation, and punishment under crimes against humanity.
Demir clarified: “This is not about Jews but Zionists who travel to Israel, participate in genocide, and return to Türkiye. If it’s proven they were involved in such crimes, they should face consequences under this legislation.”
He urged Parliament to expedite the bill, stating that while it may not stop genocide outright, it would serve as a deterrent and set an international example.
“We must create serious public pressure to ensure this bill is passed. It will prevent Zionists in Türkiye from participating in massacres and contribute to global efforts to combat such crimes,” Demir concluded. (ILKHA)
