The attack comes as the hospital has been under continuous bombardment since Saturday evening. Medical staff have issued desperate pleas for international intervention to protect patients and healthcare workers.

Medical sources report that Israeli forces targeted the hospital with bombs, artillery shells, and sniper fire, directly hitting the women's, maternity, and neonatal wards. The attack caused significant damage and severed communication lines with medical teams inside.

Hospital staff were forced to seek shelter in hallways and departments, attempting to avoid shrapnel and gunfire. The hospital has also lost power completely after Israeli drones targeted its generators and fuel tanks.

Since the start of the Israeli assault on October 7, 2023, over 45,259 civilians have been killed, with a majority being women and children. 107,627 have sustained injuries.

Thousands remain unaccounted for, either trapped under rubble or scattered across the region. Rescue efforts are severely hampered by ongoing Israeli attacks and the vast amount of debris. (ILKHA)
