This reflects a 12.4% increase compared to the same month last year and a 10.1% rise in the January-October period year-over-year.

The production of various dairy products also saw significant growth. In October, cheese production from cow's milk rose by 7.2%, ayran (a traditional yoghurt-based drink) production increased by 15.5%, yoghurt production grew by 8.7%, drinking milk production climbed by 6.4%, and butter production surged by 30.9% compared to the same month in the previous year.

Over the January-October period, cheese production from cow's milk increased by 6.3%, ayran production by 13.2%, yoghurt production by 7.3%, drinking milk production by 4.2%, and butter production by 13.5% compared to the corresponding period in 2023.

In monthly comparisons, the amount of cow's milk collected increased by 1.9% from the previous month, rising from 903,749 tonnes in September to 921,187 tonnes in October. Similarly, drinking milk production jumped by 7.1%, from 135,343 tonnes in September to 145,007 tonnes in October.

These figures underscore the robust growth of Türkiye's dairy industry and its capacity to meet increasing domestic and international demand. (ILKHA)
