The land seizure, justified under the pretext of being "state land," is intended to facilitate the expansion of the Har Adar settlement, built on occupied Palestinian land.
The PLO’s Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reported that the confiscated land lies behind the Israeli segregation wall, which has restricted Palestinian access to these areas for more than two decades. The move is part of a systematic effort by the Israeli occupation to expropriate Palestinian land for settlement activities.
According to the Commission, 2024 has been particularly challenging for Palestinian territories, marked by intensified land confiscations, military orders, and a surge in settlement expansion. These actions have drawn widespread condemnation for violating international laws and conventions that prohibit colonial settlement practices.
The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission pledged to continue working with legal partners to counteract Israel’s plans and protect Palestinian lands. They emphasized the importance of international intervention to halt Israel's systematic encroachments and uphold the rights of the Palestinian people. (ILKHA)
