The meeting focused on “mechanisms for addressing regional developments” and achieving a lasting ceasefire, according to a statement from the Hamas Movement. The delegation also briefed Bogdanov on what they described as Israel’s war crimes, including attacks on shelter centers and hospitals in Gaza.

The Hamas delegation highlighted ongoing efforts to establish a “Palestinian community support committee” to oversee post-war administration in Gaza. Hamas had earlier announced its acceptance of an Egyptian proposal for a joint Palestinian committee to manage Gaza’s affairs after the conflict.

Bogdanov reaffirmed Russia’s support for Palestinian rights and stressed the urgency of an immediate ceasefire and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

Separately, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov criticized Israel’s military operations in Gaza, describing them as “collective punishment” in violation of international humanitarian law. Lavrov denounced the killing of over 45,000 civilians in Gaza, stating that such actions constitute war crimes under international law.

The developments come as the humanitarian crisis in Gaza deepens, with international calls for a ceasefire intensifying. (ILKHA)
